Frequently asked questions
REVENUE
Below is information about revenue checks.
Lost Or Missing Revenue Check
If you received a revenue check, but have lost or misplaced it, please call (303) 463-8799 and have your owner number ready.
Minimum Check Amount
Once your revenues have accrued to $25 or more in a given month, you will receive a check. For accrued funds that are less than $25, you will receive a check for those funds annually in October, or once your account reaches $25.
Family’s Check Amount Is Different Than My Amount
Oftentimes, if you or a family member has returned executed division orders and W-9s in a different timeframe, you might receive different payments. This is because during that time, additional months of production revenues may have accrued, reflecting higher or lower payment amounts. The 1099s that you receive at the end of the year should reflect similar payments.
Also, it is important to note that our system sets decimals at 8 decimal places. When splitting interests, some owners’ decimals may be rounded up and will reflect a slightly smaller or larger decimal.
Unclaimed Property / Escheat
Unclaimed property is also referred to as escheat, abandoned property, or unclaimed funds.
Each state has unique unclaimed property laws, which require certain assets to be considered abandoned after a period of inactivity (the periods typically range from one year to five years). During this abandonment period, ExTex must make a concerted effort to seek out and return the property to the rightful owners. We issue due diligence letters as a part of this effort.
